Scenario - you're out on a ride with your mates and a rock jumps out from behind a tree and takes you off. You pick yourself up and find that your hanger's snapped. Well, at least your frame's in one piece but now you have a long walk back to the car, because you weren't prepared to pay the £15 to £25 for a part you may never use.

A simple fettling with metal and we came up with this little life saver, well leg saver actually, our Emergency Mech Hanger 2.0 (Dropout).

• It's universal so it's ideal if you have more than one bike, change your bike or cycle in a group.
• It's intended for use as a 'get me home' part, i.e. do not leave this on as a permanent fix as it's made from stainless so is stronger than your frame.
• It can be used over and over again.

• It's small and light enough to fit in you camelbak, saddle bag or even your pocket, without noticing it.

Simply take off your broken hanger, attach this in its place.

Note: Mech Hanger 2.0 is threaded so there is no need for the broken hanger, as was the case with the original.
